Happy 7 Months Sawyer

If you ever want time to advance at warp speed- have a baby.  I feel like I just found out I was pregnant with Sawyer yesterday, but here we are .. 7 months old!

You amaze and surprise Dada and I on a daily basis.  You can sit by yourself, you can crawl and roll around, eat anything that you want (including Oatmeal pie cookie with marshmallow cream that Dada gave you while Mama was at the movies),  and just started clapping.  In pure Sawyer fashion, while trying to get you to smile for your 7 month pictures we were clapping yelling yeah and you are such a smart cookie that you took it upon yourself to clap for the first time!  You are amazing!

You are currently wearing size 4 diapers, clothes that range from 6 months to 18 months, eat one solid meal a day and lots of snacks.  You love your older brothers and I think if you could, you would get up and run with them!  You just started sleeping in your crib for most of the night, but you still like to wake up during the night to eat and cuddle with Mama!  Just like Wyatt and Owen you are not big on naps, but love to fall asleep in the car.

You love to sing and read books.  Your favorite toys now are balls, blocks, your gumball machine and your dinosaur.  You are always smiling and laughing day and night!

We love you .. you are our little Soybean!

Happy 2013!

Happy New Year!  Wow where did 2012 go?!  Last year we had two babies with a third on the way and this year we have two wild toddlers and one baby (who wants to be a toddler)!

We rang in New Year's Eve at home with Grammy and Pop!  We did not make it to midnight however.  I think this is the first time in over 20 years I did not watch the ball drop.  Sawyer had other plans though and was hungry at 12:23 for his first meal of 2013!

We are so blessed to have a wonderful, healthy family!  Look at how adorable the boys are:

Here's to a happy, healthy, fun 2013!

Welcome Baby Sawyer!

The day started out like any other Thursday, NST and a doctor's appointment.  Dad came over to watch Wyatt and Owen and as I was leaving Dad jokingly said, "Make sure you come home!"
During my NST I had a few contractions and when I got upstairs Sherry told me that I was 3 1/2 cm dilated and that I was going to have the baby today!  It was about 10:30 and she said that I was going to have the baby by noon time!  WHAT?!?  I wasn't ready, I had to call Jeff, Dad, Mom.. I didn't have my bag, didn't have a camera!  I called Jeff from the appointment room and said, "Are you ready to have a baby today?"  At first he thought I was joking because I have called him more than once over the past few weeks and told him that I was in labor, but this call was go time!
I then called Dad and Mom and went downstairs to labor and delivery.  I was quite nervous because I didn't have a camera and my phone needed to be charged.  The excellent nurses got me a charger while I was changing and getting prepared for surgery.  I was ready to meet our new baby, but I wanted Jeff to be there with me.  Time went by quickly and before I knew it, Jeff was with me and it was time to have a baby.
This surgery was quite different, I wasn't in painful labor, I walked into the operating room, got my spinal, laid down and had a baby within a few minutes.

Sawyer Jeffrey was born at 12:33 pm.  7 pounds 21 inches long.  We were so happy that he was here healthy and a big boy!
Sawyer was perfect!  He cried for a mere 5 minutes.  He looks like the perfect combination of his big brothers!
This experience was great!  Having a healthy full term baby is such a joy.  No worrying about breathing issues, tubes, heat, IVs!  He was looked over after the pediatrician and given to us and stayed with us until we went home!
Here are pictures of his first bath!  We are so in love!

Happy Birthday to our baby boy!  We love you!

Newport.. here we come!

Jeff and I love going to Newport to relax, walk around, people watch and eat good food!  We have not been to Newport in a while and with #3 coming soon, we decided to plan a day trip to Newport.  Since it is a long ride down, we planned our trip to coincide with Wyatt and Owen's naps (the best laid plans do not always work out very well)!

Rhode Island is the third state the boys have ever been to.. so, what's a mom to do, but make a sign!

Again I had great intentions of having the boys hold the sign, but they had different plans!

We arrived just in time to eat.  After a yummy lunch at Panera we took off together to walk Thames Street.  We were stopped by people left and right.  Yes they are twins!  Thank you we think they are adorable too..  W & O love the attention (and quite frankly so do we)!

Being 8 1/2 months pregnant I of course had to go to the bathroom, so we walked right to the pier.  Passing the Black Oyster, Ben and Jerry's and The Black Dog to look at the boats, we realized it was our lucky day.  The Black Dog ship was docked right there and we could board the ship for free.  There was a plank to walk on to get to the boat.  Jeff had to balance W&O as he stepped onto the ship and I had to balance my belly, but whew we did it!

It was just about that time again, time to eat!  We shared a Ben and Jerry's ice cream (yum, yum) and started the walk back to the car.  It was just about time for a second nap.  Wyatt passed out right away and Owen again had other plans.  He stayed awake talking and singing with us the whole ride home.

We cannot wait to bring all three boys back to Newport next year to see what new adventures await!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy 1st Valentine's Day Wyatt and Owen!  Mommy and Daddy love you so much!

Keeping up with our yearly tradition, we all went for a delicious dinner at Friendly's!  The boys enjoyed a dinner of french fries, grilled cheese, mashed potatoes, applesauce, and to top it off.. watermelon sherbet!

Here are pictures of our peanuts enjoying the day!

I keep telling myself I am just as big as I was last year at this time (or at least I feel that way).  Here are both pictures for comparison. Yes I was bigger last year, but I was also 26 weeks and this year I am 22 1/2 weeks.  Happy Valentine's Day little one... we are excited to meet you, but you need to grow a lot more before you can join in on the fun!

Here is also to the love of my life.. Happy 10th Valentine's Day Jeff!  I cannot believe we have been together for 10 years!  I love each and every day we spend together!

Play date Wednesday!

The boys started off today with a play date of their own.  Wyatt and Owen love playing with each other as you can see in their faces:

After a quick morning nap (still working on the new schedule), we headed out to meet up with Tessa and Charlie, Kate and Trevor, Meg and Myah, and Katie, Josh, and Nick.  As always we took over a large piece of property near the splash pad and had a great morning!  Wyatt was a funny one, while laying looking at the trees, he decided to "talk" to the trees.  He would yell, laugh, smile and yell again over and over.  I guess you could say Wyatt "found" his voice today!

It isn't "Play Date Wednesday" without another afternoon play date.  Wyatt, Owen and I drove over to Mandy's to have a play date with her, Antonia, and Taylor.  We had a fantastic time.  Thanks for the fun laughs, great company, and cute pajamas!

This day is brought to you by the letter P and the number 2!

Today was a day of peas, prunes, Pop and two new milestones for the boys!

Milestone #1: Owen and I were playing in his room and he rolled over on his tummy.  I heard Wyatt waking up in the other room, I left to get Wyatt, came back, and low and behold Owen was on his back.  He rolled from his belly to his back!  Way to go Owen!

Pop joined us for lap time at the library.  The boys enjoy listening to the songs and watching the older kids.  Their favorite songs are Hurry, Hurry Drive the Firetruck and the Itsy Bitsy Spider.  It is a lot of work participating and being so cute.  We came home and the boys took a 3 hour nap (at the same time)!

Milestone #2: Wyatt woke up first and was having some one on one tummy time with Mommy, when Owen woke up.  I turned around to get Owen, turned back and to my surprise Wyatt was now on his back.  He too rolled from his belly to his back!  Way to go Wyatt!

The boys are really enjoying their food, today we started peas and prunes.  Wyatt was a bit hesitant at first,

but he ended up LOVING it!

Owen, our little piggy, was also a bit hesitant at first,

but he too ended up LOVING it!

Mommy and Daddy love you so much Wyatt and Owen and we are so proud of you and your accomplishments!

Monday Milestones!

Today was another big day in the Smith household... Owen rolled over from his back to his belly. Owen noticed his feet this weekend and it was just a matter of time before his curiosity would get the best of him. All morning long he was so close to rolling... I had my phone all set to video his big move. Looking back I had 8 videos of Owen moving from his back to his side and then back again. He went down for a nap and I was sure he was resting up for his big day.

He woke up, ate his bottle, and was ready to play. Pop had just come over to visit and was playing with Wyatt when all of a sudden.. bloop, he rolled over. No warning, no fan fair, just a roll and then playing on his belly; like he had been doing it all his life. Shoot, I missed the big roll:( Here is the picture of the result of his "hard work":

Is it true that a new milestone is very hard for a baby and it allows them to sleep longer? Here is a bit of proof:

As always I had a wonderful day with the boys. They surprise me each and every day. I was finally able to get a very difficult picture of them both smiling and right before bed (that is unheard of):
